Marty Behr
Marty Behr is a “city-boy” from Chicago who discovered the California wilderness in his 20s while at Stanford Business School and determined to make a career that blended business and backcountry. After business school, ten years as a management consultant led Marty to Alaska to assist the State and Native corporations managing their oil royalties … and to a life-changing experience. Marty, his family and friends recreated the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush in its entirety -- traversing the full 800 mile length of Klondike National Park from Seattle to Dawson City in the Yukon by boat to Skagway, on foot over the Chilkoot Trail of ’98, and by canoe 300 miles to the goldfields. There was no turning back … and shortly thereafter, Marty began the first of what would become four successful nature-oriented travel companies in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, each of which successfully continues today. In 2010 Marty and his wife Ginny relocated to the Sonoma Valley, at which time he began working as a marketing and sales consultant with Viviani.
